Sam Borek
Since 1977, banking and real estate attorney Sam Borek has been the founder and managing partner of the Law Offices of Borek & Associates, P.C.. Mr. Borek’s practice focuses on banking, real estate, business and commercial law and estate planning.
His expertise includes assisting clients with complex business planning issues such as corporate and partnership agreements, multi-state and estate planning, as well as consulting with companies in transition.
Mr. Borek has over four decades of experience counseling Boards of Directors, Committees of Independent Directors and management of public and privately owned companies in matters of corporate governance.Sam Borek is also a highly esteemed banking attorney. Since the late 1990’s, Borek has been actively involved in the banking industry, most recently named vice chairman of OptimumBank holdings in December 2009. Borek joined OptimumBank in 2001 and the holding company in 2004. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of NCB Holdings, Inc., the parent company of New Century Bank in Chicago and as Co-Chairman of the corporate governance, compensation and ethics committee while serving as a member of the audit committee of both banks.Mr. Borek is actively involved in Real Estate Development and Rehabilitation, acquiring and rehabilitating residential homes, numerous commercial shopping centers, offices buildings and nursing homes. As a crucial part of this work, he has prepared numerous private placement documents and REITs in order to provide guidance to potential investors.
Sam also owns a number of closely held companies and serves as an office and director of Lakeview Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre Inc., Estate Properties, Summit Realty and CBS Development Corporation.
In addition to his business and legal interests, Mr. Borek is very involved in community service. In the late ‘90s, he served as the President of the Board of Education of Niles Township High School District 219 – his tenure was ten years.
He is a member of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys as well as a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association.Attorney Sam Borek received his Bachelor degree from the University of Illinois with honors and his J.D. from DePaul University with honors.

Daniel M. Borek
Daniel Borek is an associate attorney at Borek & Associates, P.C. where he focuses on real estate, and corporate law.
Before graduating from law school in 2009, Daniel worked as a law clerk at the firm for assisting with legal research and drafting complaints on a wide variety of topics including commercial and residential real estate transactions and corporate law.
Daniel passed the Florida Bar in 2009. Prior to earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Mr. Borek received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Law. In May 2010 Daniel Borek was admitted to the Illinois Bar.Daniel is dedicated to giving back to the community and has volunteered for many years at the Lakeview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and as a karate teacher for athletes with disabilities for N.S.M.A.A.
Mark E. King
Mark King is a litigator with nearly thirty years’ experience in state and federal courts throughout the United States.
Mark has handled all manner of business and personal disputes under Illinois state law and has done extensive work in the federal courts, including managing complex nationwide class actions.
Mark is a certified mediator well versed in alternative dispute resolution practice and has arbitrated numerous customer-broker disputes before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). In addition to his admission to practice before all Illinois state courts, Mark is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court, the Second, Third Seventh and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Panel on Multi-District Litigation.
In addition to his litigation experience, Mark has assisted clients in documenting complex business transactions as varied as commercial real estate ventures, private placements under the federal and state securities laws, the sale and acquisition of business enterprises and major Hollywood feature films and television programs.
Mark graduated with honors from Northwestern University in 1980 and with high honors from ITT/Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1985, where he was a member of the board of editors of the Law Review, won the ITT/Chicago-Kent College of Law School Moot Court competition, won the 1984 Corpus Juris Secundum Award for significant legal scholarship, and received the 1984 American Jurisprudence Award for scholastic achievement. He was also the winner of the ABA section of Urban, State and Local government law award for scholastic achievement in the area of Land Use Law and the author of "Federal Preemption of the State Regulation of Nuclear Power: State Law Strikes Back Silkwood v. Kerr-McGee Corporation," ITT/Chicago-Kent Law Review (1984).

Leslie A. Foy
Leslie A. Foy serves as Mr. Borek's Executive Assistant and Office Manager. Lesile joined Borek & Associations P.C. in 2002. Leslie is a graduate of Robert Morris College in Business Administration. Leslie manages the firm's staff and its daily operations, including but not limited to: information technology, security systems, procurement and client service issues.
